I. Number of Exchange Students
Two (2) exchange students for Spring Semester2013
II. Selection of Participants
Participation in the Student Exchange Program (hereinafter refer to Program) is limited to those students:
a) Undergraduate students in their final year;
b) Graduate students;
c)Students who take part in the Program must be at least twenty-one years of age at the commencement of the exchange.
III. Qualifications
1. All candidates for the Student Exchange Program to W&M must have completed their third year of law studies at CUPL and will be in good standing, as reflected by a minimum CGPA equivalent to the William & Mary CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
2. In the case of non-native speakers of English, TOEFL score is required for students intending to take modules from the W&M School of Law.
All candidates should submit the following test scores as evidence of their English language proficiency to Faculty of International Law (TOEFL score is only valid for 2 years from the test date):
a) The minimum scores for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) should be as follows:
(i) 600 for the paper-based test; or
(ii) 250 for the computer-based test; or
(iii) 100 for the internet-based test
b) The candidates whose TOEFL scores are between 560 and 600 may also have chance to be selected as exchange students on the condition that they have good command of English language skills to cope with their studies at W&M. These candidates may also be subject to a telephone interview made by the professors of W&M to prove their English language skills.
IV. Application
The Fall semester of W&M School of Law in 2014 will begin in August, so the candidates who wish to participate in the Program must submit all the application documents to the Faculty of International Law, CUPL before 20 April, 2014.
Please note: The applicants could download the application form from the website. Once your application is complete please forward it along with official certified copies of your academic transcripts including translations as well as English language proficiency (certified copies of the original test) to us. References could be submitted otherwise if needed. Make sure you have included all required documents before sending your application to the Faculty of International Law, CUPL so that we can process the applications promptly.
V. Fees and Expenses
1.No tuition fees will be charged by W&M Law School. The exchange students shall be responsible for covering the following costs and expenses at W&M:
a) accommodatio application form download: http://www.wm.edu/offices/residencelife/oncampus/residencehalls/graduate/index.php
b) transportation to and from W&M Law School;
c) hospitalization and health insurance (about $700);
d) books and program materials (about $200);
e) equipment and consumables;
f) passport and visa costs; and
g) all other incidental expenses arising out of the exchange.
2. Exchange Students will be required to provide evidence that they possess sufficient funds to cover the reasonable costs and other personal expenses during their stay at W&M School of Law.
